Welcome to The Nurture Nook
Supporting children with sensory and developmental needs
What makes The Nurture Nook stand out
Collaborative Process
Recognizing that parents are pivotal in a child's development, the center prioritizes open communication, active involvement, and shared decision-making to develop tailored therapy plans and solutions. By empowering parents with tools to apply therapy at home, The Nurture Nook OT ensures lasting progress and holistic development.
Holistic Approach
The Nurture Nook takes a holistic approach to therapy, considering the unique needs and strengths of each child. Interventions focus not only on skill development but also on promoting overall well-being and fostering independence.
Experience
Our team of experienced pediatric occupational therapists have extensive training and expertise in working with children with sensory and developmental needs. They are dedicated to providing high-quality care and support.
Virtual Parent Coaching
The journey to finding support for a child with sensory and developmental needs can feel daunting. Long wait lists for the evaluation or weekly appointments can add to feelings of frustration. The Nurture Nook aims to provide support when you and your child need it, now!
Through virtual parent consultations, I can screen for potential challenges in sensory processing, problem-solve with you to find solutions to help your child reach their potential, and guide you toward helpful resources.
Feeding Support
Is mealtime a struggle for you and your family? With a background in the SOS Approach to Feeding and 7 years of experience in feeding therapy, I am here to help you navigate the mealtime experience.
Through virtual parent consultations, I can help you identify potential challenges impacting the meal experience and provide suggestions to support your child with eating.
This is a great option for people who are on the waiting list for feeding therapy but want to start now!
Personalized Sensory Diet
A sensory diet is a personalized and structured plan designed to meet the sensory needs of individuals who may struggle with sensory processing issues. Just like a well-balanced diet nourishes the body, a sensory diet provides the necessary "sensory nutrients" to support optimal functioning.
This regimen includes a variety of sensory activities, exercises, and techniques aimed at regulating and organizing sensory input. It addresses sensory-seeking or sensory-avoidant behaviors by offering activities that stimulate or calm the sensory system, promoting improved attention, behavior, and emotional regulation for optimal engagement and well-being.

Testimonials
See what people are saying
“Taylor offered a kind and empathetic approach throughout our sessions, creating a supportive, nurturing environment. Her genuine concern and understanding backed with knowledge made for valuable and effective sessions. The tools she provided my family allowed for more connection time with my kiddo and overall easier transitions from activity to activity. I learned lifelong tools to continue to support my growing family.”
"Taylor is a wealth of knowledge. She helped me better understand my daughter's needs and guided me in meaningful conversations with her teachers to make her more successful in the classroom. She was able to quickly answer all my questions which were supported by up-to-date evidence. I'm grateful for all her assistance and highly recommend working with her for you and your family's needs."
"I called Taylor because my child was diagnosed with ADHD and having some problems with clumsiness, not knowing her own strength, and not being very aware of her body. Taylor listened to everything I said and asked all the right questions. She immediately seemed to understand exactly what we were dealing with. She gave us a detailed list of exercises, resources, and ideas for activities we could incorporate into our day to day life to help her. Taylor even sent me links with ideas for things to do at home in our small apartment. She has ideas for everything and tips and tricks that can match up with any lifestyle. We are lucky to have her as a resource."
Meet Taylor
Hello! - I'm Taylor, the founder of The Nurture Nook. I am a pediatric occupational therapist specializing in sensory and developmental needs with over a decade of experience. After working in outpatient clinic services and through my own experience with my toddler in early intervention, I began to see a gap in services between when the parent recognized the need for services (NOW!) and when the evaluation or treatment services were available. I created The Nurture Nook to bridge that gap.
I subscribe to the belief that all behavior is communication. Let me support you in figuring out the root cause of the behaviors you see and help to create solutions that work for your family and lifestyle.
